This is the third and last article in the series, “Feng Shui Your Bedroom for Great Sex tonight”.
First Article: “Feng Shui Your Bedroom for Great Sex”
Second Article: “For Great Sex, Beware of Bad Bedroom Feng Shui”
In the first two articles of this series, I talked a great deal using Feng Shui principles and the things to avoid when creating a positive harmonious environment that “sets the stage” if you will, for great sex to happen.
In this article we get to the things you can do to your bedroom to increase the sexual and attractive energy of your bedroom, thus, getting the soil ready to attract a great sensual relationship.
Color
I love color. I love how you can take a couple of cans of paint and a weekend and instantly transform the energy, mood and personality of a room. When it comes to your bedroom, skin tones like pale pinks, beige, taupe’s, yellows and browns. Rich earth tones create an earthy, sensual mood that is sure to give a boost to a dull sex life.
Your Bed: the Main Attraction
The headboard should be solid to represent a solid and stable relationship. A wooden headboard is better than a metallic one. Stay away from headboards that have vertical “bars”, as they are reminders of cribs or prisons – both of which don’t conjure up ideas of great sex.
Make sure your bed has a nice sturdy frame. Again, wood is best.
There should be ample space on all 3 sides of the bed for both partners to get in and out with ease.
Bedding
Your bedding should feel soft and luxurious. To really fire up your sex life, animal prints contain the fire element, so having an animal print bedspread will definitely add some. Also earth tones, and deep reds in sensual, rich fabrics
Spend a little extra money and buy good quality cotton or silk sheets that make you feel luxurious. Red is the best choice for an active sex life. If it gets to be too much, you can tone it down by using pink sheets.
Artwork
Displaying sensual paintings or photographs of happy couples are definitely a love booster in the bedroom. If nudity is not your taste, romantic images of couples kissing or holding hands will go a long way towards creating the right environment for great sex. And if you are single, providing your subconscious with sensual or romantic images of couples in love will definitely help you attract a mate.
Decorate in Pairs
Be sure to decorate your bedroom like your life partner was already living with you. Have two nightstands with matching bedroom lamps instead of one. Have two “good pillows” instead of just one for you. Have two chairs instead of one or a loveseat. Create a little room in your bedroom closet for your future partner’s clothes.
Setting the Mood
As with all decorating, lighting is very important. You would want to be sure your lighting is soft and romantic; not harsh and too bright. Open your windows and curtains everyday to let sunlight charge your bed with positive energy.
It’s cliché to add romantic music and candles to a bedroom to create a sensual mood, but it is cliché for a reason – it works! Try placing two red candles side by side on your nightstand and watch the passion ignite!
Fragrance – the often overlooked erotic accessory
I think we tend to overlook just how important our sense of smell is to our overall well-being because we rely so heavily on our other senses; sight, hearing and touch. But our sense of smell plays a bigger role in sexual attraction than what we might consciously be aware of. Clean air with a sweet fragrance of essential oils such as ylang-ylang, sandalwood, neroli or jasmine are said to increase the sex drive.
Create a Magic Box
I first read about the use of a “Magic Box” from Sonia Choquette in “Your Heart’s Desire”. She called it an “alchemy box”. The idea is that you write your deepest desires onto pieces of paper and “let go” of how these desires will manifest by placing them in a special box and forgetting about them. You can also place images of your desire and small symbols or objects that hold special meaning for you.
To add a Feng Shui twist to this fun creation tool you would buy a silver box, and then write out what qualities your ideal mate has and what your relationship looks like together. Be very specific. You would then put your hand-written description into your silver box along with any symbols or images of what love feels like to you and place your Magic Box in the relationship corner of your bedroom, which is in the far right-hand corner as you enter your bedroom.
It’s time for you to finally get love RIGHT!

Kelly,
Great advise as usual! I once saw a Feng Shui show where a lady was having someone “do” her bedroom after a recent divorce. She had a large king bed that had two twin box springs as the base as most do. This Feng Shui master told her when you have this to put a red sheet over them then the mattress. The reason is that this is dividing you and your bed mate and the red sheet makes them whole again. I thought this was interesting!
Hmmm…I would have advised that woman that as soon as she could afford it, get a full size box spring and ditch the two twin box springs. Also, IMO, a king size bed is too large – your partner is too far away to cuddle with at night, contributing even more to the feeling of being alone and separate in your relationship. I would have advised her to get a Queen size bed. In my opinion, putting a red sheet over “the problem” is amplifying the dividing energy of the twin beds. Red sheets are great for amplifying the sexual energy of the couple, and thus spicing up your sex life, but in this case I fear it is amplifying the feeling of being “separate”.
I suppose I should also add that I am not a certified Master Feng Shui consultant, my opinions were formed from the many books I have read on the subject.
